All the main components of your coil need to be supported on something sturdy for safe, controlled, operation. I've made a support out of MDF (medium density fibre board) and some columns made of scrap polystyrene tubes. All wood should be dried and sealed with varnish to keep moisture out, thereby avoiding the possibility of current leakage and fire!
